Springfield MA based grocery store chain, Big Y Foods, Inc., has announced plans to expand its Springfield distribution center by 234,000 square feet. The $35M investment at its Roosevelt Avenue facility will include 32 new jobs and will accommodate Big Y's planned store expansion of an additional 20 stores.

MetroHartford Alliance recently announced the appointment of Sentry Commercial's Nick Pinto to Chair its Hartford Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs (HYPE) initiative. HYPE endeavors to position the Hartford Region as an attractive area for diverse young professionals and entrepreneurs to live, work and play. Pinto, who was most recently HYPE's Chair Elect, will serve as HYPE's chair in 2018.

The Bristol-Meyers Squibb property in Wallingford CT, an 915,000 square foot corporate and R&D complex located on approximately 180 acres, has sold to Calare Properties, a Hudson MA real estate investment firm. Sale price of the property is reported to be $5M. Calare reportedly plans on leasing the property to office, pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

Chip-Maker ASML has announced plans that it intends to expand its Wilton CT manufacturing operations. The $100M project will include expansion of its workforce with over 500 new jobs, construction of a parking garage, as well as expansion and renovation of its manufacturing and engineering operations. The Netherlands-based company will reportedly receive up to $14M in State of CT grants and incentives.
