$2.5M Land Deal Clears Way for 3.2M-Sq.-Ft. Amazon Warehouse on Waterbury-Naugatuck Border

According to the Hartford Business Journal, Amazon has purchased 157 acres from the city of Waterbury for $2.5 million to construct a 3.2-million-square-foot logistics center. The project, led by Bluewater Property Group, is expected to create 1,000 full-time jobs and generate significant tax revenue for Waterbury and Naugatuck, which will evenly split the proceeds. Amazon previously acquired an 8.5 acre site at 191 Sheridan Drive in Naugatuck for $4.8 million in 2022 to facilitate access to the development. Construction is slated to begin soon, with a three-year timeline and potential extensions of up to 18 months.
