Hartford redirects funds from stalled Parkville project to AI hub, hotel, and garage

According to the Hartford Business Journal, Hartford officials are shifting funds from a stalled $29.2 million mixed-use development in Parkville to support a hotel, parking garage, and artificial intelligence hub on a 3-acre site next to Dunkin’ Park. The Capital Region Development Authority plans to reallocate $1.5 million from the Parkville project, along with $500,000 in interest income and $1.4 million from a state grant, to help cover the $9.4 million demolition cost of an existing data center at 150 Windsor St. The city has also applied for a $6 million state brownfield grant and is competing for funding through Connecticut’s $100 million Innovation Clusters program. Officials hope the AI hub will drive innovation and job growth in Hartford’s core industries, including health care and insurance
