New Haven developers propose 150-room hotel and 112-unit apartment conversion

According to the Hartford Business Journal, New Haven Land LLC, affiliated with The Penn Group of Companies, has proposed a six-story, 150-room Residence Inn by Marriott totaling 125,824 square feet across five parcels at 421 George St., 134 Park St., 370 Crown St., 374 Crown St., and 130 Park St. The development would involve demolishing two vacant buildings to make way for the hotel, which is designed to offer mid-market accommodations for families. In a separate proposal, New Haven Villages LLC plans to convert the 112-room New Haven Village Suites at 3 Long Wharf into 112 residential apartments. The property, consisting of eight buildings, was acquired in December for $15 million and currently operates as an extended-stay hotel.
