New Haven Facility Sold for $1.95M; Affordable Housing Project Planned

According to the Hartford Business Journal, a former industrial laundry facility at 149 Derby Ave. in New Haven has been sold for $1.95 million to Honeycomb Real Estate Partners and Monarch Apartment Homes LLC. The 40,000-square-foot building, along with the parcel at 169 Derby Ave., will be developed into “The Monarch,” a complex with 64 affordable apartments. The site, which required remediation work, is expected to be completed by early 2025. The property, once home to Monarch Cleaners and later New England Linen, has been vacant for several years.
