Waterbury Approves Nine-Month Extension for Due Diligence on Proposed Amazon Warehouse

According to the Hartford Business Journal, Bluewater Property Group has received an additional nine months to finalize the purchase of approximately 157 acres of city-owned land in Waterbury and Naugatuck for a 3-million-square-foot Amazon warehouse. Initially agreed upon in May 2022 for $2.5 million, the new deadline for due diligence is now August 4, 2025. The development is expected to add $150 million to the city’s tax base and create between 500 to 1,000 new jobs.
