About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Engineer to support a diverse mixed-use commercial portfolio, including office, retail, and other shared-use assets. This hands-on role is critical to maintaining building performance, supporting tenant satisfaction, and ensuring the safe, efficient operation of building systems across multiple properties.
The Field Engineer serves as a technical expert in the field, working closely with property management teams, vendors, owners and tenants to resolve issues, perform inspections, and support ongoing maintenance and capital initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular inspections of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and building automation systems
- Troubleshoot system issues, respond to service requests, and support emergency situations as needed
- Support mixed-use environments by addressing varied operational needs of office, retail, and shared-use spaces
- Coordinate and oversee third-party vendors and contractors; verify quality and completion of work
- Assist with fire/life safety testing, inspections, and regulatory compliance
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and work orders
- Manage contracts for services.
- Provide technical input for repairs, system upgrades, and capital projects
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and tenant comfort
- Manage tenant relations, address concerns , and ensure compliance with lease agreements
- Communicate clearly with property managers and tenants regarding system performance and service needs
- Able to respond to after hour calls
