According to the Hartford Business Journal, the Wallingford Planning & Zoning Commission approved a 62,500-square-foot warehouse to be built on a 22.38-acre site at 15 Sterling Drive, which also houses a 174,000-square-foot Connecticut Lottery facility. The property is owned by Sapphire Group I51 LLC, which purchased it in 2018 for $5.65 million. The new warehouse will be constructed near the property line of 5 Sterling Drive and will include office space on a mezzanine level, two loading docks, and employee parking. Meanwhile, a separate proposal by Midwood Management Corp. for three additional warehouses totaling over 400,000 square feet across five parcels on Barnes Road remains under review.
