According to the Hartford Business Journal, a $2 million state brownfield grant will help fund the restoration of approximately 123,000 square feet of deteriorated factory space within the New Britain Business Center, a five-building industrial complex totaling 551,218 square feet on 57.2 acres. The site, owned by Industrial Realty Group (IRG) since 1997, straddles the New Britain-Berlin town line and currently houses 12 companies employing over 100 people. The grant contributes to an $8.5 million cleanup effort aimed at preparing three spaces in two buildings for future tenants.
