According to the Hartford Business Journal, The Silverman Group has advanced a new plan to redevelop the former Hartford Insurance campus at 200 Hopmeadow St. in Simsbury with a 669‑unit residential project on the 12‑acre Hartford South parcel. The filing includes a wetlands permit because construction extends into the upland review area, a required step before the developer submits its 8‑30g zoning application. The group bought the campus in 2016 for $8.5 million and previously demolished roughly 640,000 square feet of office space; a separate 36‑acre portion of the site has already been redeveloped with 299 apartments, 18,000 square feet of commercial space, and a 120‑unit assisted‑living facility.
