Next Step relocates to New Haven CT

Boston Massachusetts based residential energy efficiencies and renewables company, Next Step Living, Inc, has relocated its local operations from State Street in North Haven CT to 20-26 Mill Street, New Haven CT.  Next Step has recently signed a lease with Steven Bernblum for 6,000 square feet of office and warehouse space at the new location.

USPS sells Chicopee MA DC

The United States Postal Service recently sold its Chicopee MA distribution center located at 123 First Avenue. The 50,000 square foot, single story facility recently sold to JMDH Real Estate of Chicopee for $2,900,000 ($58 psf). JMDH’s plans for the new facility are unconfirmed.

Storm Ruger to open NC plant

Southport CT based gun manufacturer Storm, Ruger & Co. has announced plans to open a new gun manufacturing facility in Mayodan North Carolina. According to The Business Journal, Storm, Ruger will reportedly open a 220,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Mayodan, its third facility here in the US.

PTR to Relocate to SC

According to a recent Hartford Courant article, Bristol CT based gun manufacturer PTR Industries will announce plans to relocate to South Carolina. PTR originally announced its intention to relocate when Connecticut law makers passed stricter gun controls.

Westinghouse reportedly closing Windsor facility

Westinghouse Electric Co. is considering closing its Addison Road, Windsor CT facility, according to a recent Hartford Courant report. Westinghouse presently employs 522 people amongst two plants in the Town of Windsor. The remaining facility is located on International Drive. Th affected plant is a 67,000 square foot industrial facility located on 7.2 acres.

Alexion Breaks Ground in New Haven CT

Cheshire CT based Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has broken ground on its new headquarters in New Haven CT. The company plans on relocating 300 jobs to the new 11 story, $100 million facility.

Disston Tools expands in Chicopee MA

(6/17/13) SDI, LLC has purchased 45 Plainfield Street, Chicopee MA from RHD Realty, LLC for $1.05M. Disston Tools, global manufacturers of saws, saw blades, drill bits and other hand and power tool related accessories, will occupy the 129,575 SF industrial facility.

Ritchie Bros Relocating to New Hampshire

(6/17/13) According to the Hartford Courant, Vancouver BC based Ritchie Brothers Auctioneers plans on relocating its Stafford Springs CT heavy equipment auction business to New Hampshire. Ritchie Bros will expand its operations from 15 to 54 acres at its new location.

Burteck buys 863 Marshall Phelps Road

(6/15/13) Bloomfield CT based injection molder, Burteck LLC, has purchased the property at 863 Marshall Phelps Road, Windsor CT. Burteck reportedly plans on relocating its operations to the new facility in the next couple of months. 863 Marshall Phelps Road is a 15,292 square foot industrial facility located on 1.83 acres. It formerly housed CBS Manufacturing prior to its expansion to East Granby CT in 2008.

Fluid Dynamics leases in Manchester CT

(6/12/13) Fluid Dynamics, LLC,  a family-owned hydraulics and pneumatics distribution company, has leased 192 Sheldon Road, Manchester CT. This attractive 8,960 SF free-standing facility is located in the Manchester Industrial Park.

(5/31/13) Professional tree service company SavATree, has purchased 12 Northwood Drive, Bloomfield CT. The 3,600 SF industrial building on 2.08 acres sold for $290,000.

Sentry Commercial to relocate in Hartford CT

(5/31/2013) Sentry Commercial has signed a long term lease with 38 LLC for its new headquarters at 38 Prospect Street, Hartford CT. Sentry Commercial will relocate its headquarters from 100 Pearl Street to 2,076 square feet on the third floor of the building known as the JCJ Architects corporate headquarters. Relocation will occur on July 1, 2013.

Associated Products renews in East Granby

(5/31/2013) East Granby CT based Associated Products, Inc., has recently renewed its lease for 2,200 square feet of office and industrial space at 29 Kripes Road, East Granby CT. Associated Products has been located at the 64,800 square foot, multi-tenant building since 2003.

Sentry Commercial represented the landlord, Airport Business Center III LP in the lease renewal.

Turbotec leases in Bloomfield CT

(5/19/13) OEM manufacturer Turbotec Products, Inc. has recently leased 26,900 square feet of industrial and office space at 1404 Blue Hills Avenue, Bloomfield CT. Turbotec will relocate from its present operations on Day Hill Road in Windsor CT to its new location in the next couple of weeks. Babcock and Brown Parallel Industrial LLC is the landlord.

Tsubaki to expand Holyoke MA operations

(05/14/13) Tsubaki, an ISO 9001:2000 certified leading supplier of chain, power transmission and motion control products, will be expanding its 209,000 SF operation at 821 Main Street, Holyoke MA. The Planning Board has approved the addition of an 11,250 SF facility on the 11 acre property. The $6M to $7M expansion is expected to be complete this fall and add 15 new positions to the company.

(5/14/13) Take 2, Inc., a full-service electronics recycling and IT management company, has leased Building 1 in the Round House Industrial Park. The 25,600 SF industrial facility located at 567 South Leonard Street, Waterbury CT was built in 1964 and renovated in 1993.

Cannondale looks to expand

(5/11/13) According to a recent Hartford Courant article, Bethel CT based bicycle manufacturer, Cannondale Sports Unlimited, is seeking a $3 million loan from the State of Connecticut. If the company receives the loan it will relocate its headquarters to a 50,000 square foot facility in Wilton CT. The company presently employs 143 employees.
