(5/31/2013) Sentry Commercial has signed a long term lease with 38 LLC for its new headquarters at 38 Prospect Street, Hartford CT. Sentry Commercial will relocate its headquarters from 100 Pearl Street to 2,076 square feet on the third floor of the building known as the JCJ Architects corporate headquarters. Relocation will occur on July 1, 2013.

Turbotec leases in Bloomfield CT

(5/19/13) OEM manufacturer Turbotec Products, Inc. has recently leased 26,900 square feet of industrial and office space at 1404 Blue Hills Avenue, Bloomfield CT. Turbotec will relocate from its present operations on Day Hill Road in Windsor CT to its new location in the next couple of weeks. Babcock and Brown Parallel Industrial LLC is the landlord.

Tsubaki to expand Holyoke MA operations

(05/14/13) Tsubaki, an ISO 9001:2000 certified leading supplier of chain, power transmission and motion control products, will be expanding its 209,000 SF operation at 821 Main Street, Holyoke MA. The Planning Board has approved the addition of an 11,250 SF facility on the 11 acre property. The $6M to $7M expansion is expected to be complete this fall and add 15 new positions to the company.

Cannondale looks to expand

(5/11/13) According to a recent Hartford Courant article, Bethel CT based bicycle manufacturer, Cannondale Sports Unlimited, is seeking a $3 million loan from the State of Connecticut. If the company receives the loan it will relocate its headquarters to a 50,000 square foot facility in Wilton CT. The company presently employs 143 employees.

Yale Locks returns to CT

(5/7/13) According to the Hartford Business JournalYale Locks & Hardware is returning to Connecticut after vacating the Nutmeg State more than 50 years ago. Yale Locks, which is now a part of Assa Abloy, will relocate 160 jobs to Assa Abloy’s existing facility at 225 Episcopal Road, Berlin CT.

Carter’s to close Shelton CT offices

(5/3/13) According to the New Haven Register, children’s clothing giant Carter’s will close its 65,000 SF office at 1 Waterview Drive, Shelton CT by the end of June. The accounting, payroll and human resources operations will be relocated to Atlanta, where the company is based. While some employees will relocate with the company, the move still means 95 jobs lost in CT.

(4/15/2013) Bristol-Myers Squibb, the drug manufacturer with significant operations in Connecticut and Massachusetts, has announced plans for a $250 million expansion in Devens MA. The expansion plans include the expansion of the facility footprint in Devens MA as well as the eventual hiring of over 350 workers.

Pfizer to demolish part of Groton facility

New York based pharmaceutical company, Pfizer Corp., continues its plan to demolish over 750,000 square feet of its R&D operations in Groton CT. The demolition of what is known as Building 18 will cost the Town of Groton over $2 m in tax revenues. Compounding the tax issue is Pfizer’s continued reduction of personal property in its remaining facilities. The good news? Pfizer continues to be Groton’s number one taxpayer with over $550 m in assessed property.
