According to the Hartford Business Journal, Point Stratford Renewal LLC is investing nearly $50 million to clear and remediate the 77‑acre former Stratford Army Engine Plant site, a property containing 54 buildings totaling roughly 1.5 million square feet . Work includes demolishing structures, removing asbestos and PCBs, and placing about 1 million tons of fill to raise the land above the floodplain. Roughly 500,000 square feet have already been demolished by the developer, with the U.S. Army removing an additional 150,000 square feet.
