According to the Hartford Business Journal, a plan is moving forward to convert the 30,500‑square‑foot, 120‑year‑old former Israel Putnam School at 43 Osgood Ave. in New Britain into 34 age‑restricted apartments for residents 55 and older . The 2.6‑acre property received a key variance from the City Plan Commission, with a second approval pending before the Zoning Board of Appeals. An LLC tied to the developer acquired the building for $130,000 in 2015 and expects the roughly $4.5 million renovation to begin this spring or early summer, delivering a fully ADA‑compliant residential conversion.
