According to the Hartford Business Journal, Hartford officials are preparing a $2 million Arena District Retail Initiative to revitalize vacant storefronts around the 16,000-seat PeoplesBank Arena. The program targets eight properties, including 13,000 square feet within the arena and additional spaces at 180, 230, and 260 Asylum Street, 103 Pratt Street, and 892, 900, and 942 Main Street, with the largest being 18,000 square feet. Property owners and tenants could receive up to $250,000 per location, contingent on a dollar-for-dollar match, with larger awards possible in special cases.
