According to the Hartford Business Journal, a coalition of major corporations, including The Hartford, Travelers Cos., Stanley Black & Decker, Aetna, and Hartford HealthCare, is actively collaborating to revitalize Hartford’s urban core. Their efforts span a multibillion-dollar transportation overhaul, redevelopment of Constitution Plaza, and rejuvenation of the Pratt Street retail corridor. Travelers Cos., which owns $145 million in real estate and personal property across two major office buildings, remains a key investor, having also contributed $6.8 million to Hartford initiatives last year. The city’s pitch for a Center for Applied AI, part of a $100 million state innovation grant, aims to attract data-driven companies and retain corporate headquarters at properties like 100 Pearl St., where Hartford HealthCare recently consolidated operations.
