According to the Hartford Business Journal, KayBar Development Corp. is set to acquire the former St. Mary’s Grammar School campus at 55 Cole St. and 320 East Main St. in Waterbury for $1.6 million, with plans to redevelop the 2.2-acre site into 80 apartments targeted at medical workers. The property includes four brick classroom buildings ranging from 7,875 to 15,525 square feet, along with a 1,400-square-foot storage building, all dating back to the 1930s and 1940s. The redevelopment will feature 40 units within the existing structures and a newly constructed 40-unit building. Potential total investment reaching up to $20 million.
