According to the Hartford Business Journal, Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Branford LLC has filed a certificate‑of‑need application seeking approval to construct a 54,765‑square‑foot, 50‑bed rehabilitation hospital in Branford at 596, 612, and 616 East Main St. The project carries an estimated cost of $69.5 million and would be built on a combination of residential and commercial parcels that the company does not yet own. A public hearing on the proposal is scheduled for March 11 in New Haven.
