According to the Hartford Business Journal, Electric Boat, a division of General Dynamics, will shut down nearly all remaining retail operations at the Crystal Mall in Waterford by the end of the month as it begins converting the property into a support campus for engineering, training, and software development. The mall, located about five miles from the company’s Groton waterfront site, is expected to eventually accommodate several thousand employees, including new hires and staff relocating from Groton and New London.
