According to the Hartford Business Journal, General Dynamics Electric Boat has acquired the former Macy’s building at Crystal Mall in Waterford, a 121,000-square-foot facility on 7.4 acres, located just over five miles from its Groton shipyard. The site will be repurposed to support engineering, training, and laboratory operations tied to Columbia- and Virginia-class submarine production, with approximately 700 employees expected to work there.
