According to the Hartford Business Journal, KCH Trading Inc. is seeking approval to convert the 104,700‑square‑foot industrial building at 1000 Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield into a warehouse‑style supermarket. The structure, built in 1975 on roughly 3.5 acres, was previously used for food processing and distribution and has been partly vacant while also facing zoning enforcement actions tied to unpermitted retail and storage uses.
