Seaman Paper plans to expand in Orange MA

Seaman Paper Company plans to construct a new warehouse in the Orange Industrial Park. The proposed 165,000 SF facility at 10 Lucci Drive, Orange has been approved by the town planning department. Once plans are approved by the town water department, the project is expected to take up to one year to complete.

Corsicana Mattress expands to Newington CT

Corsicana Mattress Company has leased 212,000 SF at 353 Alumni Road, Newington. A Corsicana official said the Texas based mattress company, which is investing $6 million to $8 million alone in mattress-making equipment for its 11th U.S. manufacturing facility — and its first of potentially more in New England — plans to ramp up to 150 to 160 staffers in two shifts as quickly as possible. The 615,000 SF former Fafnir Manufacturing plant in the Newington Business Park is owned by Shelbourne Global Solutions LLC.

Three WMASS Companies Awarded Team MA Economic Impact Awards

Avista Pharma Solutions (Agawam MA), Interprint (Pittsfield, MA) and U.S. Tsubaki (Chicopee, MA) were awarded the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards of the West section of the 14th Annual Team Massachusetts Economic Impact Awards! The awards recognize companies that make outstanding contributions to the Massachusetts economy.

Gold award winner U.S. Tsubaki, since January 2016, has invested over $32M to expand its Chicopee MA plant by 100,000 square feet, adding 32 jobs. The 15 award winners throughout the six regions created over 1,000 jobs, invested over $380 million and expanded over 2M square feet!

The event, held last Tuesday in Boston MA, was once again attended by MA Governor Charlie Baker.
