🎥 Meet Nick Leone — Industrial Specialist at Sentry Commercial! Nick dives into his role, his focus on the thriving Southern Connecticut market, and how the brand-new Orange, CT office will soon be his home base. What’s New at Sentry Commercial – March Update
March Highlights at Sentry Commercial: Celebrating People, Purpose, and Progress
March was full of momentum here at Sentry Commercial, as we continued to make a meaningful impact on the commercial real estate (CRE) community in Hartford and throughout Connecticut.
This month, we proudly celebrated the women of Sentry Commercial — leaders, innovators, and changemakers who are shaping the future of Connecticut’s commercial real estate industry. Their contributions to client success, community engagement, and industry leadership are invaluable.
We also shared a special family moment with an unofficial Take Your Kid to Work Day, showing that Sentry Commercial values both professional and personal connections across our team.
Community impact remained a key focus as Mark Duclos, SIOR, President of Sentry Commercial, helped advance vital discussions on homelessness solutions through Building Foundations, in partnership with United Way and other Hartford organizations.
Sentry Commercial continued to support students through its ongoing partnership with Hartford Promise, reinforcing our commitment to creating opportunities for the next generation.
Operationally, Sentry Commercial’s Property Management division launched proactive spring property readiness — preparing client properties with drone inspections, thermal imaging, HVAC checks, and structural assessments to reduce risk and maximize value as the seasons change.
Internally, Sentry Commercial highlighted both new and familiar faces through our Meet the Team series, including the introduction of Zachary Pasquin and a milestone anniversary for Dennis “Bubba” Gollarenny — celebrating his first impactful year with the company.
Sentry Commercial also deepened its commitment to sustainability and value-add services, partnering with CBIA during the Energy Connections event to help property owners explore new strategies for reducing energy costs.
From team celebrations to community partnerships and client service, Sentry Commercial is proud to stand at the intersection of people, progress, and purpose — always moving Hartford’s commercial real estate industry forward.

Onward 2.0 Ep. 3: Spotlight on Advance CT
In the latest episode of our Onward 2.0 series, we had the privilege of interviewing two key leaders from Advance CT: John Bourdeaux, President & CEO, and Erron Smith, Director of Business Development. Advance CT is a dynamic organization committed to strengthening Connecticut’s economic landscape by focusing on three critical areas: business retention, attraction, and expansion.
Who is Advance CT?
Advance CT may be a relatively new player on the scene, but they have quickly established themselves as a driving force behind Connecticut’s economic growth. Their mission is clear: to create a thriving business environment that supports both existing businesses and new ventures. John and Erron shared their vision of how Connecticut can leverage its unique strengths, including its strategic location, robust infrastructure, and the close-knit relationships that can only be found in a smaller state.
The Power of Connectivity in Connecticut
One of the key themes that emerged from our conversation was the importance of connectivity. Connecticut may be a small state, but that’s precisely what makes it such an attractive place for businesses. The ability to build strong, meaningful relationships is a cornerstone of doing business here. John and Erron highlighted how these relationships are not just beneficial—they’re crucial to success. Whether it’s connecting with local suppliers, forming partnerships with industry leaders, or accessing top talent from nearby universities, Connecticut offers a business environment where connections flourish.
Supporting Existing Industries and Attracting New Ones
Connecticut is home to a diverse range of industries, from advanced manufacturing to healthcare and technology. John and Erron emphasized how much business is already happening right here in our own backyard—and how these businesses are making significant contributions not just to the state, but to the entire country. A major part of Advance CT’s work involves supporting these industries, helping them to grow and succeed in an increasingly competitive global market.
But their work doesn’t stop there. Advance CT is also focused on attracting new businesses to the state, particularly those that can complement and enhance our existing industries. By recruiting companies within the supply chain of current manufacturers, Advance CT is helping to create a more integrated and resilient economy. This approach not only benefits Connecticut but also strengthens the broader economic fabric of the United States.
Looking to the Future
As Connecticut continues to evolve, organizations like Advance CT will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our state. Through their efforts in business retention, attraction, and expansion, they are paving the way for a more prosperous Connecticut, where businesses can thrive and contribute to the state’s economic success.
We invite you to watch the full interview with John Bourdeaux and Erron Smith to learn more about their vision for Connecticut and the exciting developments taking place right here at home.
