According to the Hartford Business Journal, the Capital Region Development Authority is seeking to double its annual state bond authorization from $25 million to $50 million to support a growing pipeline of Hartford-area housing projects and address rising development costs. CRDA financing has helped produce more than 3,000 apartments in downtown Hartford over the past 12 years, with those units reported at more than 95% occupancy. Recent financing includes an $18 million loan toward a $71.7 million, 286-unit project being developed by RMS Cos. near Dunkin’ Park, following earlier projects totaling 270 units and 237 units.
