According to the Hartford Business Journal, RJ Development & Advisors has begun construction of The Mizzen, a $95 million, 250,000-square-foot waterfront apartment community in New London’s Fort Trumbull neighborhood. The project will contain 251 residential units and 232 parking spaces on a 6.28-acre site acquired in 2023, with initial occupancy expected in 2028. The development is adjacent to The Beam, a 203-unit apartment complex previously completed by the same developer, and includes investment from Teammates. The project is being positioned to help address growing housing demand driven in part by workforce expansion at Electric Boat.
